The Songzanlin Monastery is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery situated 5 kilometres from the city of Zhongdian at elevation 3,380 metres. Built in 1679, the monastery is the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan province and is sometimes referred to as the Little Potala Palace. It belongs to the Yellow Hat sect of Tibetan Buddhism of the Gelukpa order of the Dalai Lama.

Hongcun Ancient Villages located in Yixian County, they were listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in 2000. Two streams flow through the village from north and east converging at Huiyuan Bridge. It has two main streets and about 99 lanes. All the streets and lanes are paved with cobbles or black stones.

The most notable geographic features of the park are the pillar-like formations that are seen throughout the park. They are the result of many years of erosion. Dunhuang was one of the four frontier garrison towns (along with Jiuquan, Zhangye and Wuwei) established by the Emperor Wu after the defeat of Xiongnu, and the Chinese built fortifications at Dunhuang and sent settlers there. "The Great Wall was extended to Dunhuang, and a line of fortified beacon towers stretched westwards into the desert.
Dunhuang lay on the Southern Silk Road, and it was the final stop along this route for Chinese merchants from the East where they could trade with merchants from the West who had travelled across the desert in caravans.
A number of Buddhist cave sites are located in the Dunhuang area, the most important of these is the Mogao Caves which is located 25 km southeast of Dunhuang.
Yangzhou is one of the wealthiest cities in China, known at various periods for its great merchant families, poets, artists, and scholars and is famous for its many well preserved Yangzhou style gardens. Most of the Historic city is in the Guangling District. In Yangzhou, sightseeing buses have been introduced in the city run by the Tianma travel agency under the Yangzhou Tourist Bureau. There is a tour guide on each bus. The route, starting from Yangzhou station, has eight stops, and passes by such scenic spots of the Slender West Lake, Daming Temple, Imperial Dock, Siwang Pagoda, Wenchang Pagoda and Gaomin Temple.

Another important temple is the Gaomin Temple which is located in the southern suburb and is one of the eight famous temples in Yangzhou during the Qing Dynasty.
Jiuzhaigou is composed of three valleys arranged in a Y shape. The Rize and Zechawa valleys flow from the south and meet at the centre of the site where they form the Shuzheng valley, flowing north to the mouth of the valley. Rize Valley is the south-western branch of Jiuzhaigou. It contains the largest variety of sites and is typically visited first such as The Primeval Forest, Swan Lake, Panda Lake, and Five Flower Lake. The Zechawa Gully is the south-eastern branch of Jiuzhaigou. It is approximately the same length as Rize gully but climbs to a higher altitude, it contains Long Lake, Five-Color Pond and The Seasonal Lakes. The Shuzheng Valley is the northern (main) branch of Jiuzhaigou. It ends after 14.5 km at the Y-shaped intersection of the three gullies. It contains Nuorilang Falls, Sleeping Dragon Lake and Reed Lake, etc.
With some of the most beautiful and inspiring scenery on earth and some of the reserves scenic spots considered holy by the local Tibetan and Qiang people, it is no wonder a number of mysterious legends surround the wonderful landscape of Jiuzhaigou. With large number of lake groups, waterfalls and rich variety of endangered plants and fauna, it was awarded the status of UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve in 1997 and was also recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992.
